At Brookdale Carmel, our philosophy is that of “person centered care,” and we offer the Daily Path of Life Enrichment and Care to help meet our residents at their point of need and encourage their highest level of participation. All of our staff are dementia/Alzheimer’s trained on an ongoing basis to care for residents with memory care needs. Our specialized care for seniors with Alzheimer’s and dementia are seen in every aspect of our community, including the dinner table.
Our dining program, recognized as “Best of the Best” in the industry by the Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA) is a unique program designed by a team of specialists to help those with Alzheimer’s and dementia master and enjoy successful dining experiences. It offers dementia-friendly menus, small dining rooms, individualized dining assistance, a supportive environment, and consistent seating arrangements. We are located in Carmel, Indiana, just 30 minutes from downtown Indianapolis and just minutes away from Fishers, Noblesville, Zionsville, Westfield, and Geist. We are just minutes from some of the state’s finest restaurants, parks, and shopping. Our community has an open neighborhood concept, each of which features a kitchenette, common living space and a cluster of suites that surround the common area of each neighborhood. Each neighborhood is open to a open, circular pathway that leads to other neighborhoods, common areas, and outdoor courtyard, and multiple points of activity. Maintaining familiar daily routines is important for our Alzheimer’s, dementia and memory care residents.
Physical and behavioral needs, as well as life history each play integral roles. Each resident receives and individualized service plan designed to meet their unique needs and to help them feel safe, while adding meaning to their day. Through our Daily Path program, our staff is able to provide a gentle structure to each day that targets specific needs of those with Alzheimer’s and various types and levels of dementia. Each resident’s Daily Path uses their individual preferences and life history to ensure engagement, stimulation, and daily moments of success.
