Care for Alzheimer’s and Dementia
At American Senior Communities, we have the utmost respect for those with dementia and we understand its impact on those who live with it, as well as their families. We continually stay informed on the latest research and interventions put forth by the most credible and respected researchers, organizations and scientific journals.
We provide person-centered, wellness-based care in our Memory Care neighborhood designed for those in the earlier stages of memory loss. These “communities within communities” provide enhanced safety, support programs and activities of special benefit to those with cognitive challenges. The neighborhood uses thoughtful designs and environmental cues to increase autonomy as residents navigate through their day.
Memory Care Apartments are available in Indianapolis, Brownsburg, Fishers, Fort Wayne, and Lafayette, Indiana as well as Louisville, Kentucky
Although there is no cure for Alzheimer’s disease, those with the disease or other forms of memory loss can still enjoy a high quality of life. The progression of Alzheimer’s often makes it difficult for family members to continue care at home.
In response, we’ve created Auguste’s Cottage; a program specializing in the unique needs of those living with memory loss.
Auguste’s Cottage is a self-contained center within our communities. We surround residents with artwork and special personal items from their past to help foster a sense of belonging. Plants adorn the halls and pets visit frequently. This protected environment staffed by highly trained memory care specialists fosters dignity and supports autonomy by reducing challenges and promoting a sense of safety and security for our residents.
Our program provides a structured, research-based program utilizing a person-centered, wellness-based model of care.
Our program includes:
When a loved one has dementia, the entire family shares the journey and is deeply affected. We encourage and support engagement from the families of our residents and work closely beside them to provide loving, compassionate support to those who live with us. family.
