Our CAREGivers will even put the groceries away. Here are a few ways we can help your senior family members with incidental transportation services:

  • Doctor’s appointments

  • Therapy sessions

Household Duties

We provide reliable, trustworthy CAREGiversSM who perform dozens of common household tasks. This assistance helps your loved ones continue to live independently in the home they love.  Here are a few of the tasks a home helper can handle:

  • Laundry and ironing
  • Make beds and change linens
  • Dust and vacuum
  • Organize and clean closets
  • Take out the trash
  • Plan, prepare and clean up meals
  • Help with errands
  • Assist with pet care
  • Escort to appointments and special events
  • Accompany to lunch or dinner in a restaurant

Respite Care

We provide in-home respite care that gives you a break from caregiving. A well-designed respite program provides these breaks on a regular, scheduled basis. Giving yourself the gift of respite makes you a better family caregiver because it can recharge you physically, emotionally and spiritually.

Your senior loved ones also benefit from respite. Introducing a new caregiver provides the mental stimulation that keeps a mind sharp. Yet the professional caregiver will ensure your family member’s routine stays intact. Our CAREGiversSM are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

You can receive respite services on a regularly scheduled basis (quarterly, for example) or when you need it for special events, such as to travel out of town for a wedding.

Hospice Care Support Services

Many people believe home hospice services provide round-the-clock care. Unfortunately this is not the case. Often, hospice services offer an hour or two of care per day, plus a weekly check-in by a nurse. And some hospice programs won’t accept patients who don’t have a full-time caregiver at home. Our specially trained hospice support CAREGiversSM can provide companionship, personal care services and respite care. Here are a few of the services we offer:

  • Personal care
  • Emotional support
  • Companionship
  • Housekeeping
  • Reading aloud
  • Grooming and dressing
  • Linen changes
  • Respite for family caregivers

At a time like this, you should be allowed to take off the ‘caregiver’ badge and simply be the loving daughter, son or grandchild. You can have faith our professional caregiving can enable you to do just that.

24 Hour Care Offerings

Home Instead Senior Care® of Indianapolis offers highly trained, trustworthy CAREGiversSM to assist your loved one around the clock. We can tailor this care to meet your needs.

  • Shift Services: Ideal for your loved one who is bed-bound or generally requires more intensive caregiving. With shifted caregiving, five or six compassionate CAREGivers assist your loved one in eight-hour increments each day, including throughout the night. You don’t have to worry about providing meals or private sleeping quarters for these CAREGivers.
  • Live-In Services: For your family member who needs the highest level of attention, live-in caregiving offers a team approach. Three highly trained CAREGivers each work a 24-hour shift once every three days. These CAREGivers will sleep in the home and awaken at night to assist your loved one. You will need to provide private sleeping quarters and meals. Each live-in CAREGiver is directly employed by Home Instead Senior Care of Indianapolis, IN, which means you don’t need to worry about liability for payroll taxes, Worker’s Compensation or any of the other pitfalls that can come with hiring a private duty caregiver through a registry.
