BOURBON GLAZE & MARINADE
Use as a bourbon glaze over breaded or grilled meats. Great as a dip for chicken tenders, a glaze for meatballs, poured over meatloaf, even a hamburger topping…the sky’s the limit!
WHAT YOU NEED:
- 3/4 cup minced yellow onion
- 1/2 cup Jack Daniels
- 2 lbs brown sugar
- 4 cups pineapple juice
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2-1/2 cups water
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 3/4 cup lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 2 garlic cloves
DIRECTIONS:
For slurry (to thicken):
Mix 1/2 cup cornstarch and 1/2 cup water in separate bowl until smooth.
For the marinade:
Saute onions in olive oil until translucent. Add Jack Daniel’s and light on fire (be careful to stand back).
When flame disappears, add remaining ingredients except slurry. Bring to boil.
If you choose, stop here and let cool to use as marinade.
For the bourbon glaze:
While boiling, add slurry to thicken. Pour over breaded or grilled meats.
*refrigerate leftover for later use
