We provide home care and assistance that allows you to stay home.

Whether it’s recovering from an injury or illness, or assistance with daily living activities, Interim can provide the care and assistance that allows people to stay in their homes.

  • Therapists – offer Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy in the home

  • Homemakers/Companions – provide assistance with activities such as meal preparation, light housekeeping and errands

Services we provide for those who are recovering from an illness or injury, a home health nurse will coordinate the plan of care under the direction of the doctor.  A wide range of treatments and procedures that were once performed in a hospital can now be delivered in the comfort of your home.

Our trained clinicians teach individuals and their families self-management for their chronic condition, or recovery from an illness or injury. Staying in the comfort of familiar surroundings is not only more pleasant, but often more effective.

Our homemakers, companions, home health aides and personal care assistants provide a few hours of help a couple days a week to full time care in the home.  Some of the services we provide include:

  • Grooming
  • Preparing Meals
  • Shopping
  • Companionship
  • Limited Light Housework

There are a variety of ways to access home care supportive services and it’s easy to feel confused and unsure.  Also, there can be differences in costs that are difficult to understand.  In many cities throughout the country, there may be dozens of what appear to be similar companies offering non-medical home care and companion services, in addition to people who work independently.

It’s important to understand all the implications before making any decisions.  Yellow page advertisements or Internet websites can look very impressive. There are basically two ways to access supportive home care and there are major differences between each option

  • Home Care Company (Interim Healthcare)
  • Private Hire

It’s important to fully understand the advantages and disadvantages before making a decision. Home Care Company (Interim Healthcare) This is a company that employs individuals to provide specific health services and is responsible for taxes, insurance, bonding and workers compensation.

Employment is the meaningful variable; it carries with it an array of protections.  If an employee is sick or goes on vacation, the agency can provide another employee to perform the needed services.  The employees receive some degree of training depending on the skill level.  The agency supervises the employees, including regular visits to check on the work they are doing.

In home care agencies, a supervisor assigns specific duties and supervises the care professionals.  The agency keeps record of services performed and of clients’ status.  They report changes in the client status to the supervisor or case manager. Private Hire This is a person who is individually hired by a family member or the person needing help or through a company called a registry. While this may appear less expensive, there are many “hidden” costs and risks.

Whoever hires an individual must pay all appropriate taxes – the person hiring the worker is the employer.  If the private hire is injured on the job, the person who hires the individual is responsible for medical bills and any other expenses.  Also, if the private hire is sick or goes on vacation, he or she is not obligated to find a replacement.  There is no formalized supervision or training program.

Perhaps lower in hourly costs, hiring privately does not provide the security, trust and assurance most people want for themselves or their loved ones. Why Should I Choose Interim Healthcare?
